Constitution and Preamble
 
 

WHEREAS:  We, the police officers of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania as Representatives
and Delegates of the Subordinate Lodges, do hereby associate the Lodges we represent and the members thereof together, for the following purposes:

 (1) To support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, to inculcate loyalty and allegiance to the United States of America; to promote and foster the enforcement of law and order; to improve the individual and collective proficiency of our members in the performance of their duties; to encourage fraternal, educational, charitable and social activities among law enforcement officers; to advocate and strive for uniform application of the civil service merit system for appointment and promotion; to support the improvement of the standard of living and working conditions of the law enforcement profession through every legal and ethical means available; to create and maintain tradition of esprit de corps ensuring fidelity to duty under all conditions and circumstances; to cultivate a spirit of fraternalism and mutual helpfulness among our members and the people we serve; to increase the efficiency of the law enforcement profession and thus more firmly to establish the confidence of the public in the service dedicated to the protection of life and property.

 (2) We, the members of the various Subordinate Lodges of the Fraternal Order of Police in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, are convinced that in order to promote the above purposes, all members of the various Subordinate Lodges of the Commonwealth must unite under the name of the Pennsylvania Lodge Fraternal Order of Police, and to submit and be guided by the Constitution and By-Laws of the National Body of the Fraternal Order of Police.

 (3) This Constitution shall by the fundamental law of the Order, and together with the By-Laws enacted in conformance therewith, govern the conduct of the Pennsylvania Lodge and all Subordinate Lodges in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
 

 Susquehanna Valley Lodge No. 52

 WHEREAS: We, the police officers in the Susquehanna Valley and political subdivisions thereof, do hereby associate those subdivisions we represent and the members thereof together, for the following purposes:

 (2) We, the members of Susquehanna Valley Lodge No. 52 of the Fraternal Order of Police in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, are convinced that in order to promote the above purposes all members of this Lodge must unite under the name of Susquehanna Valley Lodge No. 52 of the Fraternal Order of Police, and submit to be guided by the Constitution and By-laws of the Pennsylvania State Lodge and the National Lodge of the Fraternal Order of Police.

 (3) This Constitution shall be the fundamental law of the Order, and together with the By-laws enacted in both the State and National Lodges of the Fraternal Order of Police; we shall support our members in the Police Departments of the Susquehanna Valley of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
